British Bliss: Soothing Sleep Stories
British Bliss is a place where the day softens into quiet. Narrated by Chris in a soothing British voice, each bedtime story for adults invites you into scenes shaped by atmosphere, place and gentle movement. The pace is unhurried, giving the mind space to settle and the body time to ease towards sleep.
Each sleep story opens into a restful corner of the world. You might drift above the valleys of Cappadocia, travel by train through the hush of a winter night in Canada, or pause beside a clear lake in the Alps. These journeys move through places of calm, with soft sights, distant sounds and delicate textures, before gradually giving way to stillness.
New stories arrive every Sunday. Season Two also includes guided meditations for worry, self-confidence, mindful breathing and loving-kindness, each shaped to support a slower, steadier state of mind.
Settle in, breathe gently, and let Chris guide you from the waking world towards calm, comfort and rest.

Welcome to British Bliss. I’m Chris, and in today’s Mindful Moments we turn inward to gently notice the movements of emotion. You’re invited to rest with each feeling as it comes and goes, meeting it with openness and ease.
Before we begin, take a moment to settle in.
Find a comfortable position, seated or lying down, and let your hands rest naturally. Feel the support beneath you, holding you just as you are.
Close your eyes or lower your gaze. Take a slow, deep breathe in, letting calm fill your chest. As you exhale, release any tension, allowing your body to soften.
If your mind wanders, notice where it drifts, and return your attention to the present, without any pressure or judgment.
When you’re ready, we’ll begin.
Notice the subtle presence of emotions within you. They may be strong, or faint, or perhaps not so clear at all. Whatever you find, allow it to be here.
Bring your awareness to the simple fact of feeling. You don’t need to name everything at once, simply allow yourself to feel. Perhaps there is a touch of calm, a flicker of sadness, or a wave of joy. There may be tension, or restlessness. There could be many things, or very little, all are welcome in this space.
Let each emotion show itself in its own time, as if you were watching soft ripples across a still pool, noticing how they form, how they move, and how they soften again.
If a feeling seems strong, allow yourself to breathe with it. Feel how it rests in the body, where it rises, how it shifts, and how it fades. You are simply the steady witness, present as emotions come and go.
And just as easily as strong emotions pass, lighter moods may appear too. Perhaps a moment of ease, or a trace of warmth, let them be here as well. Rest with them without holding on, observing how even gentle feelings change with time.
In this way, you are not pushing emotions aside, and not clinging to them either. You are simply resting in awareness, a quiet openness spacious enough to hold all that comes and goes.
Allow your attention to soften now, as though you were sitting in a wide, open landscape. Emotions may drift in, and drift out again, like passing clouds. There is nothing you need to do, simply remain here, in presence, in quiet allowing.
Stay in this openness for as long as feels right, resting softly with the movement of feeling, trusting that each one will rise, and each one will pass.
And now, when you’re ready, begin to return.
Notice your steady breath, and the support beneath you. Gently sense the room again, the air, the sounds, the comfort of where you are.
Move your fingers and toes, and when it feels right, open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Let this gentle awareness remain with you, steady and open. As you return, ask yourself: What would it be like to greet each emotion as a passing guest, welcomed without grasping, released without resistance? Carry this way of meeting your feelings with you, a quiet thread of kindness woven through the moments ahead.
Thank you for sharing this time with me. Until next time, be kind to yourself, breathe deeply, and embrace every mindful moment.
